Role Overview
We’re looking for a versatile Software Engineer to join our team. This role involves developing and improving user interfaces, backend APIs, and database systems, with a preference for candidates who can seamlessly navigate both frontend and backend development.
Experience
- 2+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Open to both mid-level and senior engineers
- Familiarity with modern full-stack development is key; you don’t need experience with every tool in our stack but should be able to learn new technologies quickly
Location: Pittsburgh, PA office
What You’ll Do
- Design and develop web applications using modern frontend frameworks such as Svelte
- Create intuitive, user-friendly interfaces that enhance user experience
- Build and maintain backend APIs using tools like FastAPI
- Manage and optimize database systems such as MongoDB
- Collaborate with our ML research team to integrate AI capabilities into our products

- Skilled in TypeScript or JavaScript
- Experienced with frontend frameworks such as React, Vue, or Svelte
- Strong understanding of HTML and CSS
- Hands-on experience developing backend APIs
- Familiar with database systems (SQL or NoSQL; MongoDB is a plus)
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Experience with SvelteKit
- Proficiency in Python and exposure to AI/ML frameworks
- Background in building AI-driven applications
- Experience deploying and scaling applications on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for efficient development workflows
- Understanding of secure coding practices and web application vulnerability mitigation
- Contributions to open-source projects or a strong GitHub/portfolio showcasing your work
- Familiarity with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Playwright) to ensure high-quality code
- Awareness of AI safety principles or ethical considerations in AI systems

Base Salary: $122,230 – $179,265 (based on experience)
