Description

At Rec (rec.us), we’re reimagining how the world plays, trains, competes, explores, and enjoys the outdoors. Our mission is to empower the entire recreation community to thrive, and our vision is ambitious: to power recreation worldwide.

Booking a tennis court, signing up your child for swim lessons, or finding an open rec league shouldn’t feel like filing taxes. That’s why we’re partnering with parks & rec departments, golf courses, campgrounds, gyms, and more to modernize a $105B industry that’s long overdue for an upgrade.

We’re not just taking recreation online—we’re reinventing it from the ground up for a mobile-first, AI-driven world.

AI isn’t just a buzzword here. From simplifying registration flows to auto-scheduling entire recreation departments and empowering staff with actionable data, we use AI where it truly makes a difference. At heart, we’re builders—leveraging the best tools to solve real problems for real communities.

If you’re excited by creating technology that genuinely matters to families, coaches, and kids across the country, we want you on our team.

Who We Are

We’re a small, ambitious team. Our experience spans Google, Amazon, Uber Eats, MasterClass, The Athletic, and beyond. Now, we’re channeling that energy into something fresh—and fun.

We care about how we build, not just what we build. Our culture is fast, focused, and proud. We keep standards high, egos low, and Slack memes spicy.

Our Values:
- Be Relentless: Move fast. Own it. Deliver real value early and often.
- Win Together: Speak up, go beyond your role, and collaborate—that’s how we succeed.
- Take Pride: Treat this like it’s yours—because it is.

About The Role

This isn’t a role to simply fill a seat. It’s a chance to help shape the future of Rec—from product and platform to culture.

As one of our earliest engineers, you’ll own high-impact parts of our stack: the modern, consumer-facing side; tools for local instructors and coaches; and the behind-the-scenes systems that keep parks running smoothly.

You’ll make architectural decisions, influence the roadmap, and help scale our platform from thousands to millions of users.

Remote possible in: North America, South America, United States and Central America.
